Foundation Communities

Since 1990, Foundation Communities has been creating more than just affordable housing — we build, buy, and manage communities where people have the opportunity to succeed. As an Austin-based non-profit, we provide attractive, affordable homes paired with free on-site support services for families with children, veterans, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.

Today, we operate over 30 properties in Austin and North Texas, offering stability, opportunity, and a real sense of home. Whether we build from the ground up or acquire existing properties, our focus remains the same: to provide quality housing with real support behind it.

We believe everyone deserves the chance to succeed, and that housing is the foundation for that success.

Services Offered by
Foundation Communities via Our Learning Centers & PROSPER CENTERS

Residents have access to free, onsite programs that support the whole household through our Foundation Communities Learning Centers and Prosper Centers. These services are designed to promote health, education, and overall well-being for individuals and families.

Available programs include:

  • After-school and summer learning programs for children
  • Fitness, wellness and nutrition classes for all ages
  • Onsite food pantry access for residents in need
  • Free tax preparation assistance*
  • Money management & financial coaching
  • Preventative care & health education

These resources are just one of the many ways Foundation Communities goes beyond housing to support those we serve.

Every resident has access to our services, many programs and services are offered on site; however, some are hosted at other Foundation Communities locations.
